When and Where do I meet the Captain?

Please arrive at the boat ramp at the Francis S. Taylor Wildlife Management Area 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour. Ask for Captain Gerald. You will be provided with ear protection and a cold bottle of water. Airboat rules will be reviewed prior to tour.

What happens if there is bad weather?

If there is bad weather, Captain Gerald will contact the person who scheduled the tour and reschedule the tour for another time.

Is there an age minimum to go on an airboat?

Yes, there is an age minimum of 2 years old. Please note that the airboat is loud and noisy, but Captain Gerald will provide ear protection for everyone just before your scheduled tour. Ages 6 and under are required to wear life jackets, which Captain Gerald will provide. Life jackets are optional for ages 7 and up.

No, unfortunately there is no handicap accessibility. If you are able to comfortably take a step down into the airboat or have someone who may help you get into the boat, you will be able to enjoy the ride. If you are apprehensive about getting into an airboat comfortably, then we would not recommend the airboat tour.

What should I wear?

Summer: Wear light-weight clothing and sunglasses. Bring sun protection.  Winter: It gets chilly on the airboat ride, so wear long pants and bring a sweater or jacket.
